Château Lalande - Listrac-Médoc Cru Bourgeois

Château Lalande covers 11 hectares of vines. It is a very long-standing property because Mme Darriet represents the eighth generation ; her grandson, Xavier Lescoutra, a student in agriculture, will carry the torch for the tenth generation on the lands of Listrac.
This vineyard, situated in the heart of the Médoc, produces 80 000 bottles of a particulary well-balanced wine, thanks to a judicious mixture of heavy land, which gives full-bodied wines full of bouquet, plus light soils which bring mellowness and finesse plus the fact that the grapes are adapted to the nature of each soil. The very great care taken over the wines of Château lalande whilst they are being aged in oak barrels, ensures they will be included among those most in demand and most appreciated in Listrac-Médoc.

The medals they have won are legion, as an example we might mention the Grand Diplôme for the Gold Medal awarded in 1910 at the Universal Exhibition in Brussels. A private cellar contains a number of old bottles, the oldest dated 1916.
