The vineyard, purchased in 1945 from Château Soutard and Cadet Piola, today produces 5000 bottles per year of a wine that is almost 100% Merlot.
Château Cadet Soutard, bottled on the estate, is situated on the plateau of Saint-Emilion between the road to Montagne and the Allée de Cadet Soutard. Its nearest neighbour is Château Cadet. The property covers one hectare of top quality soils on a limestone-clay subsoil, which helps bring the grapes to an excellent state of ripeness.
The owners, the Darribehaude family, use time-honoured, traditionnal techniques to make wine that is the perfect expression of the typicity of the soils.
Château Cadet Soutard has a deep and dark ruby colour. It has a powerful nose, developing a mix of jammy fruits. This wine is soft, round, fruity with delicate tannins, well-balanced and a good body with fresh and fruity structure.
